MailPro Linux – Configuring Microsoft Outlook (2003 to 2019)

How to configure Microsoft Outlook 2010 – In this tutorial we will configure the email address momit@my_mail.pro as an example. The key for coloured items in all Momit tutorials comprises of blue items, which are the variables and needs to be substituted with your own configuration parameters; and of green items, which are independent parameters that need to be used as they appear on the tutorial.

1) To proceed with the configuration, open Microsoft Outlook 2010 and from the “File” menu select the “Add Account” item highlighted in the image and go to step 3. If Outlook has just been installed when opened, the message “Startup” will appear. Microsoft Outlook 2010 “, in this case press” Next “.

2) The message “Outlook can be configured to connect to Internet e-mail, Microsoft Exchange or another e-mail server. Do you want to set up an e-mail account?” Is displayed. Select “YES” and press “Next”

3) Select “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” and press “Next”

4) Select “Internet E-mail” and press “Next”

5) Complete the configuration of all the fields as illustrated, pay attention to the password upper and lower case characters. The Name field is a descriptive field and it is the one that will appear to the counterpart in its email client, if it is omitted from the counterpart the email address will appear. In “Account Type” it is necessary to choose whether to have a POP3 or IMAP box, the MailPro Linux solution supports both standards. If you don’t know the difference between IMAP and POP and which protocol is best suited to your needs, please read this article. At the end press “Other Settings …”
6) In the advanced settings section on the “Outgoing Mail Server” section it is important to enable “The outgoing mail server (SMTP) requires authentication”. It is possible to leave the default setting of “Use the same settings as the incoming mail server” only if the user with the same credentials has been defined on the anti-spam system. Otherwise it is necessary to enter the username and password provided with the activation email of the MailPro service.
7) Finally in the “Advanced Settings” section it is necessary to set the SMTP port to 587. The last 3 settings are optional and represent the optimal choice in most cases.

8) Press “Apply” and “OK” to confirm all the settings, and when you return to the main configuration screen, press “Next”. Click on “Finish”.

The setup is complete.
